About Certified Professional Midwives
What is a CPM?
A Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) is a knowledgeable, skilled and professional primary maternity care provider. Certified Professional Midwives are trained and credentialed to offer expert care, education, counseling and support to women for pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
Why we need CPMs?
With childbirth being the #1 reason for hospitalization in the US, access to Certified Professional Midwives offer greater access to care, lower cost options, and better outcomes.
The National Association of Certified Professional Midwives (NACPM) is the membership organization specifically representing Certified Professional Midwives (CPM) in the United States.
