Email Chairman Watson to request a hearing today!

ETA: This campaign was so successful that Chairman Watson begs you to please stop asking. A hearing was never called, but the message was received.

SB111, the Community Midwives Senate bill, has been assigned to the Health and Human Services committee. For a bill to become a law, it must pass through committee before going to the Senate (or House) floor for a vote. If it passes that vote it goes to the same committee on the other side, in this case the House committee, and then to the House floor for a vote. Georgia’s legislative session is only 40 days long, making it very difficult to get bills passed.

We (no longer) need everyone to email Chairman Ben Watson (ben.watson@senate.ga.gov) to request that he: (Click this link and the email autopopulates for you! Add your name and send! Done!)

  • Read SB111

  • Call a hearing in his committee, Health and Human Services

  • Support Georgia families by giving them more access to care by community midwives

  • Include information about why this is important to you if you like

Please copy us at paigethemidwife@gmail.com so that we can keep a copy for paper presentation and a record of how hard Georgia families are working to get access to care.
